Making Your Cheeseboard
It’s that time of year where you want to hide away from the cold weather outside. Cheeseboards are perfect for a cosy night in on the sofa, or winter entertaining.
Our winter themed cheeseboard is full of the warm tones of ginger – a heart-warming pairing with our Mainland cheese, it matches well with our blues and cheddars alike. We’ve used a large 1kg block of Mainland aged cheddar, aged up to 18 months it’s harp bite makes it a firm farourite, and the scale you can get by breaking a 1kg block in half makes an epic centre piece to your board.
Whether you are celebrating a mid-winter Christmas or not, blue cheeses and cheddars are delicious with Christmas cake and pudding or other fruit and spice cakes. It’s also a good time to bring out some cheeseboard classics such as nuts, dried fruits, fruit pastes and autumn/ winter fruits such as pears and figs.
